Nestled in the heart of the old town in Aylesbury, The King’s Head boasts roots stretching back to the 15th century. As one of England’s oldest coaching inns and a cherished community landmark with a Grade II* protection, we provide a great place to drink and dine within its beautiful, medieval architecture.
Proudly operated by The Chiltern Brewery, we offer an exceptional selection of fine, draught English ales, special British craft beers and delicious food made in our kitchen with locally sourced, seasonal produce.
Our guests can enjoy the choice of two bars – The Farmers’ Bar and the recently restored crown jewel, The Great Hall with its reputable stained-glass windows that draws guests from across the land. Our beautiful, multi award-winning cobbled courtyard set in the heart of the building which can be enjoyed all year round, especially in the warmer months as it is a sun trap and a worthy escape from the town centre for a spot of lunch.
If you are looking for a room to hire for private celebrations, gatherings, business meetings and conferences, we also have two historic rooms on offer – The Dining Room and The Gatehouse Chamber.
We hold some fantastic special events throughout the year, such as themed Medieval Nights, Beer & Food Tasting Events, Celebration of Beer, Shakespeare in The Courtyard, Heritage Days to name a few. Read more about this on our events page and come and join us.
