An absolutely amazing piece of history. One of the oldest pubs in the south of the UK. The beers are fantastic and are all locally produced at the Chiltern Brewery. The pub is in the heart of the busy town of Aylesbury, but step inside and you will somehow be fooled into thinking that you are in a country pub, in a village! Just such a unique atmosphere.

Lovely secluded independent pub serving local beers, ales and food. The courtyard is fantastic in the sun and offers a respite from the busy town centre

Tucked away off Market Square this historic pub, owned but the National trust, is a must visit. The atmosphere is real old world charm, the beer selection is extensive and well kept. The food is of very high quality, try the pastry dishes and the wonderful cheese board. Worth a detour.

First visit with a friend, great range of ales and beers which you can sample before you buy. Super friendly staff and a great ambience. Lovely cobbled courtyard where we sat in the sunshine, it’s well kept with potted plants etc and space for smokers and non smokers. Will be back to try the food menu, seems Sunday roasts are really popular

The food and ambience in this delightful pub is always excellent. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff there were so helpful as the shop was closed and I enjoy some of the produce sold there. They actually went and retrieved some for me. My friends who have never visited the pub also enjoy the produce so I have to get supplies for them as well. My brother-in-law, who lives in Devon, always looks forward to a visit.

A proper old traditional pub in Aylesbury town centre. A brilliant selection of ales and other drinks. Friendly, well presented staff who are knowledgeable about the local beers they are serving. A relaxed atmosphere and the perfect place to have an enjoyable drink away from all of the other noisy pubs in the town. There is a nice courtyard to sit out if the weather is nice, with plenty of tables available. The function room is also very nice and again, staff were very accomodating when I had attended a private function upstairs. The food was great and service was efficient and friendly
